The most challenging parts were finding non-academic and academic sources and structuring the paper to make it flow smoothly. The most useful things we did were peer reviewing and analyzing samples.

For me the most challenging part of the assignment was incorporating interview information into the essay. I think that I could've prepared an outline of my paper even before the interview so that I could better incorporate the interview information throughout my essay. The concepts which helped me most to write my essay were discussing analytical concepts, analyzing sample papers, and the individual conferences.
ReplyDelete1. The most challenging part was finding someone to interview. I think that maybe giving more time to conduct the interview because for me it was difficult to find time to talk with the person I interviewed.

1. I think the most challenging part of this paper was the formatting. I am so used to doing MLA formatting, when switching to APA, I found myself struggling with the formatting rules. Something I could have done was went to the writing lab and made sure all my formatting was correct. For the next paper, I will definitely take advantage of that and have a person go over all my formatting.
ReplyDelete2. I think the most useful took was conducting individual interviews. I think this really helped my paper out because you were able to look over my paper and tell me the things you are looking for in a paper. I got a lot out of the conference and I hope there is another conference for the next paper. I think the least useful source was outing papers and peer reviewing them. I choose this one because all the other ones really helped me with writing my paper. This tool was the least useful because I don't think I gained as much new information based off of it as the other ones. I really liked all the resources we had for this paper, and I think by usually all the resources my paper turned out a lot better. If I did not have these tools, my paper would be a mess.
1. The most difficult part about this essay for me was to put it into APA format because I have never done that before so I was just confused on all the parts of the essay that I needed. Once I got the hang of it it was better to understand. I dont think anything would have to be changed, the thing in class we talked about made it better to understand.
ReplyDelete2. The conferences and peer review were absolutely most useful in my opinion because I got so much feedback on my paper even when I thought it was good. I learned things that I didn't know before so the help of others was very useful. I dont think there was a least useful. I pretty much got a lot of information from all of those things and it helped me to write a better paper.
1. I think the most challenging part of this assignment was finding credible academic journals. If I had to change something about the paper I would have allowed more class time working on the paper.
ReplyDelete2. Out of all the things we did in preparation for this assignment, I think discussing the analytical concepts was the most helpful. These concepts helped me structure my paper. The least helpful component was the outlining the paper. I do not recall spreading time on the outline.
1) I think the most challenging part was finding someone to conduct the interview with. Some people have more uncommon fields of study than others which may make it difficult for some people to find interviewees. To make it better, I think there should be sample interviews that students choose from and add to their paper.
ReplyDelete2. The most useful to me was analyzing the sample papers. By seeing the samples, I was able to look at different writing outlines and decide which one was the best.
The most challenging part about this assignment was finding good business articles for my sources. Maybe giving more in class time so we could have asked questions or asked for help. It got confusing at times when I did not know how you expected the paper to be and just having to hope I did it right.

1. The most challenging parts of the assignment were the finding of certain sources for my field since most writing is academic. Another challenging part of this assignment was trying to write in a new style than I had done before in writing. I don't think anything more could be done I just had trouble understanding some parts of the assignment right away but eventually I understood them.

The reviewing of the example papers were by far the most helpful and useful for me because it allowed me to see what a good paper was and what a bad paper was and how to avoid the bad tendencies. Outlining papers and peer reviewing them was not too helpful when it came to figuring out how to write the report.
1. I think the most challenge part in this section is revise my paper draft. Because the time I had was too short, and I was confidence about the first draft, but after the conference, I decided to rewrite the whole paper. If I can send emails or had conference on Wednesday, I would have a whole weekend to working on this paper and make this much easier.

I think the most useful one is analyzing the sample paper because this part gave me a lot of inspiration to writing my own paper. I barely can write a good passage unless I read a sample before, so that's really helpful to me.
The least useful on is outlining paper because non of the ideas I used in both drafts. It's better to directly start write maybe one more draft would be more useful than just had an outline.
1) I think the most challenging part of this paper was find examples for both academic and non-academic writing. It was hard to find examples for business writing that were academic versus non-academic. I think what could of been done to make this easier is to submit our reference page of our paper and have it either peer reviewed or checked by the professor to make sure there is both academic and non-academic sources included.

I would say that the most challenging part about the assignment was probably the topic. I thought it was very hard to discuss about "writing in your major", I struggled with that whole concept. I don't think anything can be truly changed to make the whole topic more simplistic, I just struggled with it. Something that really helped with making changes to my paper was the individual conferences, it truly helped me understand from the professors standpoint on what they want. Peer review as well helped to see how everyone else wrote, also I'm not very good with grammar so just to get the basics down was great. To get the structure down in my paper I used a lot of sample papers, sample papers are great because collectively bargaining ideas off of other papers helps you write your own.
ReplyDeleteThe most challenging part of this assignment to me was finding non-academic papers. The reason this was so hard was because it was harder to get a hold of those documents for my major. There isn’t anything that can be done to fix that. The most useful thing we did was having individual conferences. Peer reviewing was the least useful for me.
