Research Methods



Group Work
  • Do some research on either designing a survey/questionnaire or conducting an experiment (I'll assign). 
  • Find out what are the most important characteristics of the research design your group is focusing on. 
  • List the steps in conducting research. 
  • Mention things to avoid. 
  • Provide a link to an example of the kind of research your group is working on. 
  • Post all of these things as a comment here.

    -important to look at both sides
    -use random samples of people

    Steps
    -for the quasi experiment, create a pretest and posttest

    Avoid
    -avoid having a small sample group
    -avoid not doing random assignment

    2. Randomly assign people

    1. Choose the direction
    2. Narrow down the questions
    3. Give each question a circumstance
    4. Provide multi-choice and free answer

    Things to avoid:
    1. Choosing a certain group of people
    2. Don't let the questions be too broad
